Lazy Girl!

Well, I fell 15 minutes short last week. And it's already Tuesday, and I've only done 45 minutes of exercise. I'm on spring break at home with my sister. So far, it's been busy, as always.

Yesterday, they admitted my dad into the hospital. He went in to get his blood pressure checked, but they were concerned about him falling down and shaking as much as he was. His brain fluid and ct scan were okay, but they're going to run some tests. I'm gonna stay in town, if possible, until he gets out of the hospital. Keep your fingers crossed for good news.

In the meantime, I'll see what I can do about getting some exercise in!

Hope all is well in the exercise world--if you get a chance, let me know how everyone is doing!

Keepin' On!

Despite the myriad of troubles in my house, I'm trying to keep up with the exercise. In fact, the exercise keeps me from trying to kill people. I'm a little on edge right now--trying to get a grant done, run a business, grade papers, and keep my house from falling apart ($500 at a time. . .). But who's life isn't crazy? Isn't that what this is all about? Making exercise a regular part of our day so we can stay healthy and sane?

Anyway, Lori and I went to play tennis last night. It's been a while for her, but I was trying to run my butt off chasing her errant balls to get the ultimate exercise. Sadly, my body makes some crazy noises when I run--I guess a few more Pilates-type exercises (say one million or so) will firm me up enough to run silently!

Hope all is well with everyone else. If you've got stories or experiences to share, fell free to post them here!

And it's on!

So, I've heard from several folks (even a MAN!) about who's in. Here's the list so far--if you're supposed to be on it, but aren't, let me know! We've got Nikki, Jennifer (?), Karen, Mark (Karen's man), Dawn, Beth, Amie and me. I'm hoping to exercise the most and take all the money, but I'd be just as happy if we all got to keep our money (and lose whatever parts of us we want to lose).

Anyway, I'm walking with Dawn tonight (after the plumbers replace a million dollars worth of pipes under the house and the heater guy finishes my heater--just in time for the 30 degree weather). That's a good half hour. And there's tennis with Beth on Wednesday, and my friend Lori on Tuesday (if it's not raining). And then the sex . . . ;)

Catch me if you can!

Gearing Up

So, I didn't walk Friday night--had margaritas and movies instead (plus pork chops, etc.). I am gearing up, however. I've got a couple of friends that I play tennis with (one, Beth, who regularly kicks my butt, but continues to play with me anyway)--hopefully I'll get to play tennis this weekend. If not, I have to get my exercise in before I go home to Indy.

No exciting stories here--just more drama--now I need new pipes under my kitchen sink. But, Gerardo says don't worry, and I've decided to exercise those blues away! Hopefully, some of those really cute clothes I bought not too long ago should fit soon.

How about you, Candy--your clothes falling off of your skinny butt already?

See you ladies in the posts--let's get out those tennis shoes and rock the world!

The Challenger

So my friend Candy's taunting me about her smaller ass--she's lost 23 pounds. YAAAHHH Candy!!

In any case, I'm looking forward to getting started on Monday. I'm hoping that anyone interested in playing will let us know before then . . . and then the fun really begins!

Everyone enjoy your weekend and post often once you get ready to exercise!

When it rains, it pours

Went for a walk with Dawn last night--we boogeyed up to the HEB to buy dinner. Damn--walking for 1/2 an hour is easy until you fill your arms with bags of groceries.

Anyway, my heat went out Friday, my sink doesn't work anymore, and I need to get new calipers on my truck before heading to Indiana next weekend. Sounds like a perfect time to start a new exercise program! I've spent much of my life waiting for that perfect moment to start a diet. Turns out, every day is chaos. My walk last night took it off my mind for a while. Maybe a new perspective on this exercise thing will help me stick with it!

Peace out.

Finally--Body Boo Ray!

Well, it's finally here! The Feds say to exercise at least 30 minutes a day--I'm starting slowly, but may upgrade as we go. In any case, we're starting our "program" next Monday (one week before spring break and two weeks before I go home--eek!). I'm hoping to make incorporating exercise into my lifestyle an everyday thing that I do like I brush my teeth at night and lotion in the morning--just part of my daily routine.

If you're joining the program, welcome and thanks for trying it out! Let me know (and the rest of us) how things are going and what kind of fun exercises you're finding to do.

Talk to you all soon!
